Saturday, March 27, 1999 - The Cobras handed the Gators a 5-0 shutout loss
in this weekend's long anticipated make-up game.
In the first of two games on consecutive nights, the Cobras' paced themselves by playing
a conservative team-defense style of game. Defensemen Vroom, Abe, Mike, Steve and Yves
concentrated on clearing the front of the net and guarding the quick Gators wingers, while
the forwards cleared loose pucks and chased the opposition out of the zone.
After allowing virtually no shots on net in the first period, the Cobras offensemen stuck to
the game plan, and waited patiently for their offensive opportunities. Although they were
few and far between, the Cobras capitalized. Scoring the majority of their goals on odd-man
rushes.
The shutout was Jamie's second of the season.
