Responsible for IT staff. Migrated
database to mySQL, Tomcat from PERL environment. Work with SalesLogix keeping
database in order. Migrated to new Saleslogix system. Created custom exports
tools to export from one system to the next. Created custom monitoring tools
for website databases and systems. Oversaw network management. Mentored Java
developers and taught a developer the Java language since he had no prior
experience. Implement source code control procedures. Kept licensing up to
date. Researched best practices and documentation. Gathered requirements and
streamline website processes. Established, planned, and administered the overall policies and goals
for the information technology department. Analyzed the needs of departments
and established priorities for feasibility studies, systems design and

Projects included: §Took the full software life cycle and converting a
Perl based website system into a J2EE/Java based system. Setup and coded in a
heavy JSP/Servlet based environment with mySQL and SQL Server backend.
Started with UML, Requirements gather, and Use Cases and put a plan in place.
Also wrote custom database exporting and conversion tools to transfer data from
SQL Server Saleslogix structure into a mySQL database schema which was
completely different. §Responsible for Saleslogix administration, users,
and development. §Created company Intranet in Java/J2EE to keep track
of Call Logs, Do Not Call List, Employees, Entrance and Exit Reviews, and
support. §Set up DNS servers and installed Web Server
redundancy via Round Robin DNS entries. Set up Apache front for Tomcat
servers. §Hands on responsibility for Network Administration
such as Active Directory, File/Print Server, and email systems. |

Reinsurance included custom java/swing application. Used UML/Use case
modeling to create solid project foundations as well as requirements and
estimates. Responsible for most of main user interface including JFC/Swing.
Wrote a custom extension for JTextField
to handle formatting for international currency. Application was a global,
strategic application which let them collect information necessary
manage their risks globally, was robust (low defect rate), and the first of
its kind. Project included work with Weblogic server, model
objects, and work with Sybase server. § Environment used Lotus Notes for contact management. §
